Welcome

Thanks for visiting my blog! I am so glad you are here!

This will be a place where I will post not only your sneak peeks from sessions...but all sorts of other things that will help you get to know me and the things that I like!

Who am I anyway? I am a wife, mother, child, sister, aunt, granddaughter. I am also a photographer. I cherish the titles that being part of a family brings, and I cherish the different family dynamics that I see in all of you. I am so thankful that I am let into your lives and can witness all that is unique about each of your families.

Then...there is the me that loves reading, chocolate and facebook...who loves making silly faces and leaping through the house. I am quiet..but I can be quite silly too. I find that makes it easy for me to relate to kids of any age, and that includes parents. :D

My name is Jennifer Simpson and I can't wait to meet you!

Fun with three! {Scottsdale Child Photographer}

Having three kids myself, I know the dynamics can be kind of interesting.  Not enough hands, etc.  This family also had two boys and one girl like I do, although my girl is the youngest rather than the oldest.  It was fun watching them interact with each other and seeing the different roles they play.

I got to watch their mad soccer skills, see their garden that is growing all sorts of things and just witness ‘family’.  It was a great session!!  :)

Five under four… {Phoenix Child Photographer}

Five cuties all four years old and under.  Three of them around the one year mark.  Throw in some random cactus grabbing, a fever and a cough, plenty of dirt and chocolate frosting and that describes our session.  I had a blast!  :D   So fun to see all of their personalities come out as we got further into the session.

I think they enjoyed the communal birthday cake at the end.  It was a cute owl cake at the beginning…hehehe…

Happy people…{Surprise Family Photographer}

I have met the best people since we started homeschooling almost a year ago.  This is one of those families.  They had the grandparents in town too, so they wanted to schedule a session during that time.  I love that idea!   We had a slight chance of rain and shortly after we got there the dark clouds came and I was slightly worried!  But we had nothing to worry about, the rain stayed away long enough for us!

I had to include some images of both sets of adults. I love laughter, I get so happy just looking at these!  :)

Glendale First Saturday {Glendale Arizona Photographer}

What are you doing Saturday?  The weather is going to be in the 60′s!  Downtown Glendale is having their second First Saturday of the season. First Saturdays is a free monthly artist event on the first Saturday of each month in the recently renovated walkway off of 58th Avenue (just north of Glendale Avenue.) It is a continuation of Glendale’s Artwerks initiative, attracting residents and visitors from all over the state.

I will be doing mini mini sessions (approximately 5min)  there all day on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm!  You get a disk of all images for $25.  It is great if you just wanted some shots to update your current picture selections!  I will be doing this in conjunction with the children’s boutique Henny & Ev.  They are a great little store, gently used clothes as well as wonderful handmade items from around the state.  She sells books for kids for a great price too!   There is a wonderful bakery next door as well…I sampled a lovely sweet buttermilk pie there!

I look forward to seeing any of you there!  Here is a sample of the images that I took the other day there!  Even if I don’t see you there for photos, you should try and stop in there sometime!  :)

Little bundle of Ben..{Scottsdale Newborn Photographer}

After having my last two newborn sessions with babies that were three and four weeks old, it changed things up again to have one only seven days old.  :D   Mr. Benjamin came a little early and missed out on the fun things that I bought just for a little boy session!  That’s ok, everyone was patiently awaiting his arrival…  :D

He really enjoyed being bundled up all snug like, but we were able to get that off of him for a bit and he didn’t seem to mind!  Of course, babies love the warmth and I think that helped…the adults on the other hand…well, we got used to it.  hehee.  Check out this cutie!

Hats are fun! {Phoenix Newborn Photographer}

Sweet little Isabella…came four weeks early and I did her session at four weeks, so I think it evened out.  She did so great!  It was almost like she enjoyed modeling all of the hats we wanted to play with.  Hehehhee.   It is getting to be cooler out, so all of the hats were almost a must…right?  ;)

Last minute giveaway!! {Arizona Photographer}

Hurry hurry, quick quick!

I am doing a giveaway on Lauren’s blog…who’s Lauren you ask?  Just a pretty cool gal that lives here in AZ.  I love reading her blog, it reminds me of when I was young.  :D   But seriously, she takes her camera wherever she goes and I think more of us need to do that!  What a great opportunity to look back at your year or month or whatever!  Even the mundane things.  Little things that you don’t want to forget.  Even your outfits!  What are the chances you are going to be wearing some of the outfits that you wear now, five years from now?  Maybe, maybe not, right?

Just visit Busy Bee Lauren’s blog and just comment on what you are going to be for Halloween.  You are going to dress up, right?  :)

And, what is a post without a pic, eh?  Well, I just grabbed this one of Lauren (MY Lauren) from a few weeks back.  Just had some fun one evening.  :)

16 days… {Gilbert Newborn Photographer}

I typically do newborns when they are ten days are younger.  I never know what to expect when I get one older than that.  Reese was only 16 days old though, so I was hoping for the best.  She did so great!!  She knew when she was done though!    And I got to hold her for a bit too, which is always so nice with the littles..  :)

A favorite teacher…{Phoenix Family Photographer}

This session was special to me for quite a few reasons.  Stacie has taught all of my kids.  She taught them to read, write, etc…but she also taught them other things.  She helped them be who they are today.  She was their preschool teacher.  They were with her for two years.  I have heard so many people complain about the preschool that they send their kids to and I have never heard a complaint about ‘Lil Learners.   By the time your children are done, they are truly ready for Kindergarten.  They learn so much!

Anyway, Stacie needed some family photos fast and all I could think of was how fast I could get them in.  I hope the whole family can treasure these for a long time.

And if you are looking for a great preschool in the northwest valley, check them out.  Message me if you have questions about my experience there as well!  :)

From green to brown…{Phoenix Family Photographer}

My cousin and his family came to visit, they live in Oregon where it is nice and green.  It is nice, our daughters are pretty close in age!  I had a great time chatting with them, I don’t get to see them all that often!  This trip was a longer one so they had some extra time.  It was so hot, we just went out and snapped a few pics and went back to the air conditioning as quick as we could.  :D
