My first session of the year… Do you think it means good luck to start it off with a newborn? Especially one as cute as this one? I just couldn’t get over how much he smiled!
I love it!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I am so glad you are here!
This will be a place where I will post not only your sneak peeks from sessions...but all sorts of other things that will help you get to know me and the things that I like!
Who am I anyway? I am a wife, mother, child, sister, aunt, granddaughter. I am also a photographer. I cherish the titles that being part of a family brings, and I cherish the different family dynamics that I see in all of you. I am so thankful that I am let into your lives and can witness all that is unique about each of your families.
Then...there is the me that loves reading, chocolate and facebook...who loves making silly faces and leaping through the house. I am quiet..but I can be quite silly too. I find that makes it easy for me to relate to kids of any age, and that includes parents. :D
My name is Jennifer Simpson and I can't wait to meet you!
I often get asked what my favorite thing is to photograph. That is a hard question to answer! Maternity/Newborns are always great because it is just…new. I love everything about maternity…the anticipation.. And then the newborns..well, who could not love those??
You get the toddlers running around keeping you on your toes…the preteens that wonder who’s idea it was do do photos to begin with, but secretly they like it..the seniors who are excited and nervous to be done with high school..
But back down to the babies a bit…you know, that age riiiight before they start crawling around getting into things. You sit them down..and they stay there. And laugh. (Over something so simple as a ball bouncing). And look at you with a puzzled expression. And have rubber band wrists…you know what I am talking about. The age between 6-8 months or so is way up there in my ‘favorite’ ages to photograph. Honestly, I can’t pick just one age…but I do favor these because I don’t get to see this age as often as the others, so I treasure them when I can…
This little guy was due on my birthday. We didn’t even think he would make it that far, his brother came three weeks early. Alas, my birthday came and went and no sign of Ezra. He did come the next day though! A couple more pounds heavier than his brother did when he was born!
I so enjoy this family and I am so thankful they wanted me to come back for this little fellow..
This extended family had never been to Arizona before…They came from all over the country to celebrate a birthday. How fun is that? We thought we would start out with a group shot that would be more ‘posed’ and well, you can tell by the first image this is as posed as it got. Such a fun family. Between shivers because of the surprisingly cold morning, I was laughing and laughing…the sibling shots were just…fantastic, ha! I have had the best large families this season, I love it!!
I met Tucker quite a few years ago…online of all places. A bunch of us played this online game, I won’t mention which one… :ahem: He told me so long ago that he wanted me to do his senior photos. I thought nothing of it! And here we are, his senior year and I did his photos! And not only that, we did them on the day he graduated! Yep, he graduated early! He is a smart one! In just a few months he will be leaving for the army. I can’t wait to see what else he does with his life…
This new family just got to Arizona by way of Germany. And now I bet they are ready to get on to Texas, their next stop! But they mentioned not having a family photograph taken since they had their daughter! What a great time to do it! Little Kailyn was all dressed for Christmas, can I mention how much I loved her little striped tights!?! Goodness..
This session was different for me as it was a mom with her older daughter. I love that! Seems like the majority of pictures people take are within the first year and then it just keeps on dwindling.. We did most of our session and then we went back to her house to play with the dogs. They were so funny!
This family is just….so great. There aren’t enough words. Right away they make you feel so welcome. I had a great time at this session…got my feet wet, so to speak. hehehe. Apparently it is rare for this whole family to be together at one time, so it was a special time for everyone! Of course, the star of the show is little Ben…such a cutie! He grew so much since I just saw him at his newborn session! And who can resist all of the puppies looking at the camera?? Love it!!
I met this family a little over a year ago, they live kind of across the street from me. Just kind of funny since we have the same name and our husbands have the same name, just spelled differently. She has three young kids, and I totally remember my own three kids those ages. I am so thankful that we met!
I was so excited to do their family photos and I love how they turned out. I mean, check out the one of the two of them.. :swoon: The boys pics, well, I just picked those by which expression I see on them a lot.. hehehe..
I have been chatting with Sarah and a group of other mommies online for years now…and we hadn’t ever met in person. Well, it finally happened right before Thanksgiving. How fun! It was great to meet her and her family, I have seen so many pictures of them that she has shared… I had a great time at our session for sure!
